Keystone Institute For Furbearer Education

July 18, 2015 District 8 of the Pennsylvania Trappers Association hosted the
annual PTA banquet at the Moose Lodge in Lewistown, PA.

In attendance was Rod Zullinger, Greg Kohl, Pete Ellerman, Jerry Pickel,
and John Stemmler from KIFE along with many officers and members of the
PTA.

John Stemmler retired treasurer of KIFE was presented a coon stretcher
in appreciation for all his work for KIFE. The streacher shows the KIFE logo
and signatures of each of the KIFE board members past and present.

The guest speaker for the evening was from the NWTF.

A great meal was just the beginning of an evening of games, raffles,
silent auction items and live auction items.

In June 2015 Pete Ellerman of KIFE along with a hand full of other instructors provided information to approx 70 outdoors students at the annual Perry County Sportsman for Youth.

The Pennsylvania Trapper Association along with The Fur Takers of America had a combined rendezvous June 19 – 21, 2014 at the Washington County Fair grounds Washington, PA. KIFE board members in attendance and manning the booth were Pete Ellerman, Alan Probst, Greg Kohl, Jerry Pickel, Don Himes and Rod Zullinger.

During the 78th PTA Rondy the KIFE booth was manned by Pete Ellerman, Don Himes, Rod Zullinger, Greg Kohl, and Jerry Pickle.

On May 15th, 2015, Pete Ellerman and Jerry Pickel of KIFE along with Frank Mohn and Allan Eppleman of the Pennsylvania Trappers Association spoke to approximately 180 intermediate school students at their annual “Wetlands Day”. The brochure “Why We Trap” was handed out to
the students and instructors.

Jerry Pickel and Pete Ellerman of KIFE attended the Great American Outdoor show along with many of the PTA members who handed out the brochure “WHY WE TRAP” along with free trapping magazines. Also in attendance was Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Teen Pennsylvania wearing their red fox coats donated to them from the Pennsylvania Trappers Association.

Jerry Pickel and Pete Ellerman attended and worked the gate at the annual District 8 antique trap swap meet and sale. We handed out our brochure “WHY WE TRAP” and sold a few KIFE tee shirts.

On May 16, 2014, Pete Ellerman and Jerry Pickel of KIFE along with Frank Mohn of
the Pennsylvania Trappers Association attend the one day Wetlands event.

We spoke to approx 180 students about the need for wetlands and  how all living things need the wetlands to survive. We also talked about the life history of animals and how we all are connected to each other.

On February 1st – 9th, Pete Ellerman of KIFE along with a large list of PTA members maned the PTA booth at the annual Great American Outdoor Show. Kife’s brochure “Why WE TRAP” was handed out to the public attending the show along with free magazines about trapping.
