Frank Mohn of the PTA, Jerry Pickel and Pete Ellerman of KIFE spent the day talking to school students about how Wetlands affect all of us and how furbearer such as the beaver are the one animal who makes the Wetlands possible.
On April 21st, 2018
KIFE donated a Red Fox Trooper’s hat for the PTA District 3 annual banquet. The banquet was held at the Youngwood Fire Company on April 21, 2018. Pete Ellerman with his wife Ruth Ellerman and Jerry Pickel attend the District 3 Banquet.

On April 7th 2018
District 12 held the PTA State Banquet, attending was Jake Kaplan from the PTA.
Jake brought with him 3 Red Fox Troopers hats that were donated by KIFE to be used as raffle/auction items to raise monies for the PTA.
On February 27, 2018, Pete Ellerman spoke on the use of trapping as a population control for wildlife and the different type of traps that are being used today.
Great American Outdoor Show Harrisburg, PA Feb 3 – 11, 2018
The PTA booth was maned by Pete Ellerman of KIFE and Butch Herr plus additional members of the PTA for the nine days of the show.
Sept. 21, 2017 was a long day coming.
Pete Ellerman, Jerry Pickel officers of KIFE and Jake Kaplan of the Pennsylvania Trappers Assoc. made and unusual give of 30 Red Fox Troopers hats to the Hershey Medical/Penn State Children’s Hospital for their patents. June 15 – 17, 2017 was the Pennsylvania Trappers Association 80th Annual Rendezvous at Honey Brook, PA.
Pete Ellerman and his wife Ruth, Bill Hunter and his wife Gail and Jerry Pickel attended the Rendezvous and manned the KIFE booth.

June 23 – 25, 2016 Gilbert, PA (West end Fair Grounds)
The KIFE booth was maned by Jerry Pickel.
This was the KIFE kick off of video taping the Rendezvous demos for those members that could not attend the rendezvous.
Mel and Butch Herr visited the Eastern Lebanon County High School (ELCO) FFA Class, Lebanon Co, PA. We actually had 2 classes: 1 from 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning, and 1 from 1:30 to 2:30 in the afternoon. We gave 2 trapping books and 2 dvds to the school library. We set up tables with tanned fur, traps and educational literature from both KIFE and the PTA. I talked about each of the furbearers that can be trapped in PA and shared regulations regarding trapping.
