Mel and Butch Herr visited the Eastern Lebanon County High School (ELCO) FFA Class, Lebanon Co, PA. We actually had 2 classes: 1 from 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning, and 1 from 1:30 to 2:30 in the afternoon. We gave 2 trapping books and 2 dvds to the school library. We set up tables with tanned fur, traps and educational literature from both KIFE and the PTA. I talked about each of the furbearers that can be trapped in PA and shared regulations regarding trapping.

Mel and Butch Herr set up our display at the Jonestown Elementary Envirothon Class which is part of the Northern Lebanon School District in Lebanon Co., PA. The students were 4th and 5th graders and they were extremely attentive and asked a lot of questions. I think the best part for them was being able to handle all the tanned furs. Our granddaughter was in this class which made it extra special for us. Educational material was handed out from KIFE and the PTA. I also gave the teacher 2 trapping books and 2 dvds for the library
Butch Herr attended the Palmyra Middle School Arts and Crafts Festival located in Lebanon County, PA. Butch set up 2 tables with tanned fur, various traps, educational pamphlets. Approximately 200 students were in attendance. A lot of interest was shown by the students and many questions were asked. I was particularly surprised by the interest by the teaching staff that stopped by the table. I handed out a lot of literature and hopefully educated some people of the importance of trapping and furtaking.
